The scenes in the forest are madness. Over 250,000 people show up to party.

Team SCG at work

Headed by long-time Pininfarina designer/engineer Paolo Garella, this all-Italian team hails from Turin. Looks like chaos here, but they were one smooth operation...very impressive.

The Meteorologist
The Meteorologist

There was mayhem...and hail. Red flags, last lap passes, cars unable to make it back to the pits on slick tires with a racetrack that's suddenly frozen...a routine 24 hours at the Nürburgring.

Echoes of the Past
Echoes of the Past

Manufacturers are keen to evoke the looks of their historic racers. And you know what? It works!

The Torch and the Roadrunner
The Torch and the Roadrunner

An international contingent for team SCG: Germans, Brits, a Swede, a Frenchman and a Dutchman, and one American, Jeff Westphal (center, the dead-ringer for David Beckham).

Tire Tensions

The guys from Dunlop looked like this the whole weekend. Michelin put the wood to 'em--and SCG suffered in performance.
